TapeAlert
Since the unspeakable
terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the United States has witnessed
a mind-boggling number of anthrax hoax reports. This, in turn, has triggered
an equally large numbers of reports of suspected toxins. No part of
the nation has been spared, Delaware has had several hundred reports
of possible toxins. The
good news is that most of these reports were hoaxes or reports made
by well-meaning people whose suspicions were raised. The bad news is
that any hoax reports were made in the first place, triggering panic
on the part of the public, and often forcing the federal, state, and
local governments to waste valuable time and resources responding to
them. KMD Science has an additional technology based upon chemoluminescence,
called TapeAlert.
TapeAlert is based
on proven and demonstrated work that the KMD Science believes can outperform
all available bio-detection capabilities for biological agents. Guesswork,
false positives, and waiting days to positively confirm could be eliminated
entirely by this technology. The Center for Disease Control in the United
States lists six biological diseases as high-priority biological
agents that pose a risk to national security.
TapeAlert will initially
detect anthrax and small pox but will eventually detect all six in a
fraction of the time and at a significantly lower cost than any existing
technologies. TapeAlert is designed as a building and aircraft monitoring
device capable of containing, as a result of instantaneous detection,
bio-threats before they can be widely transmitted via civilian mobility.
